New Beginnings?
For week, anticipation has been building about Trinity's move to our new building. The biggest thing that Action had to do with this was the relocation of all our lockers. We had to move them all into the Auditorium (affectionately known as the circle). Each set of lockers could be anywhere from 3 to 8 lockers. A set of 8 lockers weighed about 300 pounds. It took 9 people to carry one set, and most of them were wrestlers! So that's one type of a set of lockers. Another type is the shorter, but heavier set. They were heavier because each set had 8 lockers. They were shorter in height, but they were situated such that there were four lockers on one side and their backs were connected to the four lockers on the other side. I hope that's not too confusing. I'm guess that a set of these was about 400-500 pounds. Altogether, there were about 50 sets of lockers that had to be carried into the circle, and we did it all by about 2:00 pm. It was awesome. The biggest problem that we've had with our workdays and stuff in the past is inviting people. We always say that it could have been more successful if we had invited more people. For this workday, we had an announcement at every Trinity morning prayer for a week for people to come. We had probably about 5 times as many people not in Action at this workday than any other work day at least in the last two years. Glory!! I think that this workday could be a turning point for the Action Division here. We have always felt that most Trinity students think that Action is too exclusive and that we think we're better than them. I think that this workday has formed a strong bond between Action and Trinity.
In some ways, it's kind of difficult moving to a new building. I've grown up going to meetings in that building. Heck, I've never gone more than a month without being in that building at least once. It's not only difficult for me, but for others who put their sweat and blood into River Ridge. It's kind of bittersweet, I think. It's very exciting, moving into this new building, but it's hard to leave behind our home. It's pretty exciting.
I found out on Saturday that our family would be moving to our grandparents house for an indefinite period of time. I can't say why at the moment. My grandparents moved to Arizona for the winter, so we have this house to ourselves. Unfortunately...it's simply not home. Some of us are having a hard time adjusting, and we don't know how long we'll be here. We do know, however that we'll be here for Christmas. I can't say much more right now, but if y'all could keep us in your prayers, we would be much appreciative. That's all for now, and I have chosen to disregard the fact that I haven't posted in two months. God bless!
